Daily Maintenance and Care Procedures for Extruders

As a commonly used piece of equipment in manufacturing, the extruder’s routine inspection and maintenance are critical for extending its service life and reducing downtime.
Before powering on, inspect the equipment’s exterior for any loose components and ensure all connection cables are intact. Clean the feed inlet and discharge outlet to prevent residual material from blocking the flow paths. Check the lubricant level; if it falls below the specified mark, promptly add the appropriate type of lubricant to ensure adequate lubrication of the transmission components.
During operation, regularly monitor equipment parameters such as temperature and pressure, and record any changes in the data. If an abnormal temperature rise or a sudden pressure increase is detected, immediately shut down the equipment and conduct a thorough inspection. Pay close attention to the operating sound of the motor; if any unusual noises are heard, stop the operation and inspect the motor’s condition.
After shutdown, thoroughly clean any residual material inside the equipment to prevent it from solidifying and affecting subsequent operation. Inspect wear-prone components such as the screw and die, checking their surfaces for signs of wear or deformation; address any issues promptly. Lubricate bearings and other critical parts, perform thorough cleaning, and maintain the equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Proper daily maintenance and upkeep of extruders can reduce the frequency of equipment failures, maintain stable production operations, and provide strong support for smooth production.
